Design talents present sing-along-fashion in De Bijenkorf
The entire city is colored in cheerful prints inspired by country flags and winning Eurovision songs. The SING ALONG city design comes from design studio Vollaerszwart. In addition to decorating buildings and iconic places from Central Station to Ahoy with the design, they have also launched a fashion project to bring the city into a Eurovision song contest.
Last year Madje Vollaers of studio Vollaerszwart called on fashion designers in a so-called open call to make new contemporary fashion with old country flags.
Michael van der Meide, Teun Seuren, Stephanie Willems, Rena Jansen, Yamuna Forzani and Laura de Wilde were selected and will present their designs on Saturday 8 May in the window of the renowned department store De Bijenkorf on Coolsingel. The shop window has been completely transformed into a SING ALONG atmosphere for the Eurovision Song Contest. The designers are present to explain about their creations. Host City Rotterdam is proud that the Eurovision atmosphere is also added to the city at this special location. Vollaers also showed three of her own designs. A taste of what else Host City Rotterdam has in store.
The SING ALONG fashion can be seen in the shop window of the Bijenkorf from 8 to 22 May.
